Drivability Issues You May Experience
Drivability problems refer to issues that make it either difficult or impossible for your vehicle to run. These problems can include any of the following examples:
- Your engine will turn over, but not start fully. This could be caused by an issue with the ignition system, a fuel pump or fuse panel failure, or worn tune-up parts.
- Your engine doesn’t crank. If this happens, you could have a dead battery, a bad starter, or a failed ignition switch.
- Your engine cranks, but dies right after. Often, this means you have problems with the fuel injection system, contaminated fuel, vacuum leaks, or even a few other common issues.
- Your engine dies when you stop the car. This can be caused by a worn or damaged idle air control motor, a dirty throttle body, or a worn throttle position sensor.
